About Kyler

Born and raised in Spearville, Kansas, Knobbe’s rural upbringing shaped his values and fueled his desire to remain in southwest Kansas. After attending Dodge City Junior College and St. Mary of the Plains College, he earned his law degree from Washburn School of Law in 1973. Though he had opportunities to pursue law in larger cities, Knobbe chose to return to his roots, joining Bernie Frigon’s practice in Cimarron before co-founding his own firm, Knobbe Law Office, in 1991. This decision underscored his commitment to serving his local community, a choice he’s never regretted.

Over the years, Knobbe’s career has included notable achievements, such as arguing and winning a case before the United States Supreme Court in 1991 on behalf of Tom Feist, a prominent figure in Feist Publications. This accomplishment proved that even a small-town attorney could make an impact on a national level. Yet, for Knobbe, his work’s most significant measure of success lies in the trust and loyalty of his clients, many of whom he now serves as second- and third-generation clients.

Facing the reality of an aging rural population and a shortage of young attorneys in the area, Knobbe recognized the need for succession planning within his own practice. Recently, he affiliated with Kennedy Berkley law firm to bring Paige Harding, a promising young attorney from Dodge City, into his office part-time. Harding’s commitment to the region, combined with her legal expertise, provides Knobbe with peace of mind, knowing his clients will be in good hands as he gradually transitions his practice.

Through this affiliation, Knobbe has found a path to preserve his legacy while ensuring that his community continues to receive the legal support it needs. As he looks toward the future, Kyler Knobbe remains dedicated to his clients and to fostering the next generation of rural legal professionals, confident that his values and dedication to southwest Kansas will endure.
